  
One important distinction of the Foundation is its ability to gather private companies for sustainable development and environmental conservation actions. Their participation is critical in this process, since they hold the absolute majority of the planet´s financial resources. This framework is only feasible due to the combination of three basic elements: government, mandate and ethics. Therefore, the Foundation was structured to act independently from political shifts or changes in governmental priorities (governance), to have solid legal support and show credibility (mandate) and to respect ethical standards that enable the building of serious and solid institutional relations with various segments of the society.
